About Our Physio

Our
Story
Nicole qualified in 2023 from Moreton Morrell College in Warwickshire with a BSc Hons in Veterinary Physiotherapy. Nicole spent many years working within the animal industry and wanted to do something to help make a difference to animal health and wellbeing.
Nicole was inspired by Russell Guire of Centaur Biomechanics, in learning how horses are supposed to correctly engage their core and how riders can influence this through Rider Biomechanics.
Through her days at university, Nicole studies the effects and uses of different physiotherapy treatments, all backed with evidence based scientific research, to ensure successful results.
Now Nicole works within a 20 mile radius of Chesterfield as a freelance Veterinary Physiotherapist, helping animals regain correct mobility and enhance performance.

Kissing Spines Specialist
In December 2020, Nicole's horse Saffy was diagnosed with severe overriding dorsal spinous processes, aka 'Kissing Spines'.
Saffy underwent surgery which included bone resection of 3 processes and interspinous ligament desmotomy in 4 spaces at Hird and Partners in Sheffield.
After recovery, Saffy was stabled at Moreton Morrell College in the student livery yard where she underwent a 12 week rehab program designed and carried out by Nicole.
Nicole carried out extensive research into the current rehab protocols of kissing spines. This meant all exercises and treatments used were all backed with evidence based scientific research.

Nicole now treats many Kissing Spines cases using this knowledge and experience to replicate the same success she had with Saffy.
